Drag race: Lamborghini Revuelto vs McLaren 750S
September 14, 2024 by Jamie Edkins
We’ve drag raced the Lamborghini Revuelto against offerings from Italy, Germany and the USA, but never anything from the UK – until now.
We’ve lined up this raging bull against the McLaren 750S, and this is set to be a close one. Let’s take a closer look at the stats.
Lamborghini Revuelto
Starting with the Lamborghini, it has a mid-mounted 6.5-litre naturally-aspirated V12 engine which is assisted by three electric motors. This gives it a total power output of 1,015hp and 1,062Nm of torque.
It also has all-wheel drive and an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and the Revuelto tips the scales at 1,772kg, although this is the weight pre-fluids. Add these in and you’re looking at just under two tonnes. It’ll make a pretty big hole in your wallet as well thanks to the £447,000 price tag.
McLaren 750S
That makes the McLaren 750S look like a bit of a bargain, it only costs £254,320 – or the same as a three-bedroom semi-detached house in Carlisle. Unlike a house, the 750S is fitted with a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine with 750hp and 800Nm of torque.
This is sent to the rear wheels only via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, which will make it pretty lairy off the line. It is a lot lighter than the Lambo though, coming in at 1,389kg which should go some way to overcoming the power deficit.
So which of these cars will come out on top? Will the Revuelto’s raw power be enough to clinch victory, or does the McLaren have a trick or two up its wheelarches? You’ll have to watch the video to find out.
