Used 6-seater cars FAQs

Well, any seven-seater car can be used as a six-seater if you leave one seat empty… In terms of cars built specifically and only with six seats, there used to be both the Fiat Multipla and the Honda FR-V, both of which had two rows of three seats. Sadly, both of those cars are long since out of production. There are some seven-seater cars which have more luxurious six-seater layouts as an option — including the Kia EV9, Mazda CX-80 and the Mercedes GLS - but these aren’t specifically six-seater models.

If you can find a Honda FR-V in good condition without too many miles on it, then that would make a terrific used six-seater purchase, but they’re becoming rarer and harder to find. If you want something newer, the Kia EV9 is an excellent seven- or six-seater. The best recommendation is to actually look for a good seven-seater and just have the extra seat.

As with any family-focused car, you’ll need to check the interior for signs of scuffs, damage, stains etc. All multi-seat cars should also be carefully history-checked to make sure that they haven’t been used as a taxi or Uber at some point. After that, it’s the usual — service history checks, mileage, overall condition, and a thorough test drive.
