2025 is going to be a busy year for the car industry, with loads of exciting new models on the way. Here are 25 new cars to look forward to this year.

There are loads of new cars due to debut in 2025, with everything from small electric hatchbacks to ballistic performance estate cars on the cards.

We’ve compiled a list of the 25 most exciting models coming out in 2025, and maybe you’ll stumble upon your future dream car.

Alpine A390

New Alpine A390 rear

The A390 is a totally new direction for the French performance car maker, because this is its first ever four-door coupe. It’ll be an alternative to the BMW i5 when it goes on sale towards the end of the year.

Alpine hasn’t revealed any specific specs in terms of power and performance, but it will share some parts with the Renault Megane E-Tech and Nissan Aryia. Unlike those cars though, the A390 will have three electric motors which allow for some crazy torque vectoring, which should make it more fun to drive than the competition.

Aston Martin Valhalla

2025 Aston Martin Valhalla front

This is Aston Martin’s answer to the Lamborghini Revuelto: the new Valhalla. It’s a V8 plug-in hybrid supercar with 1,079hp and 1,100Nm of torque, and the suspension is finely tuned to be both fun on the road as well as pin-sharp on the track.

Just like the Revuelto, this car uses two electric motors on the front wheels and one to assist the engine. It’ll do 0-60mph in just 2.5 seconds, which is exactly the same as the Lambo but around half a second off the Ferrari SF90.

Audi RS5

Exclusive render: New Audi RS5 Avant front

The new Audi A5 and S5 went on sale in late 2024, but the speed freaks among you may be wondering where the full-fat RS5 is. Well it’s due to go on sale this year, and it’s looking like it’ll retain a V6 under the bonnet.

It’s likely to be the same basic engine as you’ll find in the S5, however a plug-in hybrid system will almost certainly be added to boost power. Somewhere around 550hp could be possible.

BMW 3 Series

New BMW 3 Series front

BMW will be launching the all-new 3 Series at the end of 2025, just after the iX3 electric SUV. This will be the first 3 Series to be offered as an EV, however petrol and hybrid versions will still be available.

These initial spy shots show a similar design to the Neue Klasse concept from last year, and the interior will also feature BMW’s new Panoramic iDrive infotainment system. It uses a new type of display which spans the entire width of the cabin with clever 3D graphics which allow you to use certain functions without taking your eyes off the road.

BYD Atto 2

New BYD Atto 2 front

Electric cars are slowly getting more affordable, with many models now dropping below the £30,000 mark. The BYD Atto 2 is one of the latest budget-friendly offerings, with prices expected to start from between £27,000 and £30,000.

It’ll go on sale in February with just one battery option which gives it 194 miles of range, although there will be a big battery model later which will go further on a charge. It may not be as exciting to look at as a Volvo EX30, but if other BYD models are anything to go by then the Atto 2 should come loaded with kit as standard.

Citroen C5 Aircross

New Citroen C5 Aircross concept front

The Citroen C5 Aircross is one of our favourite family SUVs here at Carwow because it just offers so much for the money. Well, an all-new one is coming this year, and it’ll be available as an EV for the first time.

It’ll share parts with the Peugeot E-3008 and Vauxhall Grandland Electric, meaning up to 430 miles of range could be possible. If it goes into production looking anything like the concept, it’ll be a great-looking thing as well.

Cupra Raval

2025 Cupra Raval front

This is the new Cupra Raval, and it’s one of three affordable new electric cars coming from the Volkswagen Group this year. The design was first teased with the wild-looking UrbanRebel concept, and now a toned-down production version has been spotted testing.

Under the skin it’ll be more or less the same as the new Volkswagen ID 2 all and Skoda Epiq, meaning you can expect around 270 miles of range. The concept was powered by a 234hp motor on the front axle, and there’s nothing to suggest this won’t be the case for the final car.

Dacia Bigster

2025 Dacia Bigster front

The long-awaited Dacia Bigster will be going on sale imminently, and the hype around this car was so great that it took home the Carwow Car Of The Year Award for Most Anticipated new model.

It’s an affordable alternative to the Volkswagen Tiguan and Hyundai Tucson, and most of the styling details are taken straight from the rugged-looking Dacia Duster. It’s a similar story inside as well, where everything looks hard-wearing and functional.

Ford Puma Gen-E

Ford Puma Gen-E front

The Ford Puma was the best-selling car of 2024, and an all-electric version was recently revealed to further broaden this funky SUV’s appeal. It looks pretty much identical to the standard car, albeit with a blanked-off grille, and it’ll cost £29,995 when it goes on sale later in the year.

The Gen-E is powered by a 43kWh battery giving it 233 miles of range, and the 168hp front-mounted motor means it can sprint from 0-60mph in 8.0 seconds. Practicality has also been improved by going electric. Ford has given this car a cavernous storage area under the boot floor, as well as some extra storage under the bonnet.

Hyundai Ioniq 6 N

New Hyundai Ioniq 6 N side

After showing the world that electric cars can be huge amounts of fun to drive with the Ioniq 5 N, Hyundai is set to launch the new Ioniq 6 N this year in an attempt to replicate this success. Very little is known about the technical specs, but it’ll almost certainly have over 650hp.

The Ioniq 6 N has been spotted testing a few times, and the massive wing is the biggest giveaway that this is the hot version. Expect to see a suitably sporty interior as well with some body-hugging sports seats.

Jaguar Type 00

New Jaguar Type 00 front

Very few concept cars have caused as much of a stir as the Jaguar Type 00. Following a rather contentious rebrand in 2024, the company revealed this mad-looking all-electric GT car which will go on sale in 2026. A roadgoing production version could be revealed this year though.

It’ll use an all-new battery and motor combination which will give it almost 480 miles of range, and the minimalist interior looks like a luxury spa rather than a saloon car’s cabin. Expect a price tag of well over £100,000.

Kia EV5

New Kia EV5 front

This is the new Kia EV5, an all-electric SUV which will sit alongside the petrol-powered Sportage in the brand’s lineup. It shares a lot of styling details with the EV3 and EV9, without looking like a carbon copy of those cars.

There will be a few motor and battery options on offer, one of which Kia claims will get around 447 miles of range. If the EV6 and EV9 are anything to go by, a high-performance GT version could even come along at a later date.

Range Rover EV

Range Rover EV front

The full-size Range Rover is one of the most luxurious SUVs you can buy, and what better way to make it even more serene than by offering an all-electric version. The new Range Rover EV is slated for a reveal in the first half of this year, with first deliveries starting by the end of 2025.

Technical details are thin on the ground, but Range Rover has said that this car will offer similar performance to the V8 version; meaning 0-60mph should take around 4.3 seconds. You’ll have to wait until the covers are pulled off to find out about batteries and range though, because this car will use completely new EV tech.

Mercedes CLA

2025 Mercedes CLA front

The CLA is one of Mercedes’ most popular models, and an all-new version is coming in 2025. As is the case with most new cars, it’ll be available either as an EV or a hybrid, with the former sporting some tech from the ultra-efficient EQXX concept.

The styling will remain similar to the current CLA, just with plenty of bits taken from the Concept CLA we saw in 2024. More than 460 miles of range is also possible from the EV, and petrol-powered cars will have a 48-volt hybrid system.

Polestar 5

2025 Polestar 5 front

Having spent four years prior with just one car in its lineup, Polestar gave us the new 3 and 4 in 2024. Well in 2025 there’s another new model coming from the Swedish brand, the new 5 – a luxury four-door coupe which will take on the Tesla Model S and Porsche Taycan.

The design appears to be very similar to the smaller 4, although this car does have a unique rear light bar. Under the skin you can expect to see the same 111kWh battery as the 3 and the Volvo EX90, and it could even have as much as 870hp.

Porsche Boxster EV

New Porsche Boxster EV Front

Porsche’s baby sports car is set to go electric this year, and the new Boxster EV has been spotted testing a few times. The hard-top Cayman will also go in the same direction, although there are no exact technical specs for either car yet.

They could share some parts with the Mission R concept though, namely the 435hp front motor. That would give it a healthy increase over the current car’s 300hp output, and should be enough to offset the added weight of the batteries.

Renault Twingo

2026 Renault Twingo front

If the Dacia Spring seems a bit too spartan for you, then you may want to wait for the new Renault Twingo to go on sale. The final production car should be revealed before the end of 2025, just after the new Renault 4 goes on sale, with cars hitting the showrooms in early 2026.

This comes with the caveat that UK sales aren’t yet confirmed, but if this cute and quirky small EV does hit our shores then it should have a sub-£17,000 price tag and around 185 miles of range.

Skoda Epiq

New Skoda Epiq

This is the new Skoda Epiq, a small electric concept car which will share parts with the Cupra Raval and Volkswagen ID 2all. It’s a lot more rugged-looking than either of those cars, but it’s still only around the same size as a Skoda Kamiq.

The Epiq promises a 248-mile range, as well as a spacious interior. You get a 490-litre boot, which is around the same size as the larger Karoq, and it’ll also have a sub-£22,000 price tag.

Smart #5

This tough-looking thing is the new Smart #5, the largest SUV from the brand to date. The boxy shape and chunky bumpers make it look like it means business, and the 100kWh battery will give the #5 around 460 miles of range.

It’ll go on sale towards the middle of 2025, with prices expected to start from around £35,000. That puts it in line with cars like the Skoda Elroq and Renault Scenic.

Tesla Model Q

Tesla’s new compact EV should be revealed this year, and it’s been a rollercoaster ride to get to this point. First there were rumours it would be canned, then Elon Musk denied these claims before calling the car “pointless” following the launch of the Cybercab.

Then, just as you may have lost all hope, fresh rumours have emerged that it’s back on the cards for 2025, and that it could be called the Model Q. It should have a sun-£24,000 price tag if it does come to fruition, which is likely to be in the first half of the year.

Toyota Urban Cruiser

New Toyota Urban Cruiser front

Toyota has revived the Urban Cruiser name for the first time since the late 2000s, and it’s been applied to its new small electric SUV. This is the second EV to come from Toyota, and it’s a joint venture with Suzuki which is badging it as the new e-Vitara.

It’s packing a 61kWh battery with a claimed range of around 250 miles, and there will be an all-wheel drive model as well. Prices are expected to start from under £30,000 when it goes on sale later in the year, making it an alternative to the Kia EV3 and Volvo EX30.

Vauxhall Grandland GSe

The latest Vauxhall Grandland Electric is a worthy family car, if a little bit dull. A new version will come along soon to remedy this though, the GSe. This is Vauxhall’s equivalent to VW’s GTX or Skoda’s vRS, and it’ll essentially be a more powerful version of the Grandland.

That added power is likely to come courtesy of the dual-motor setup offered in the Peugeot E-3008, and around 320hp is likely. You may also get some subtle styling upgrades to make the GSe look a bit more sporty.

Volkswagen ID 2all

Volkswagen ID2all

Volkswagen will be launching a sub-£22,000 electric car this year, and it’ll be based on this: the ID 2all concept car. It’s one of a trio of small EVs from VW, Skoda and Cupra, and it’ll have up to 280 miles of range.

A spicy GTI version is also on the cards, as previewed by the ID GTI in 2023. That car should have more than 320hp, and it has some sporty styling upgrades over the standard car.

Volvo ES90

The Volvo S90’s spiritual successor will be revealed this year: the new ES90. This all-electric executive saloon was teased during the launch of the updated XC90, and it looks as though it’ll get similar styling cues to that car.

While the technical details haven’t been revealed just yet, some parts sharing with the EX90 seems inevitable. Expect therefore to find a 111kWh battery lurking under the sleek bodywork, giving this car over 360 miles of range.

Xpeng G6

Chinese newcomer Xpeng has launched its first car in the UK this year: the G6. It’s a rather groovy-looking alternative to the Tesla Model Y, however it’s a few thousand pounds cheaper than that car.

There are both single and dual-motor versions of this car, the latter of which will do 354 miles on a charge – over 20 miles more than the equivalent Model Y. It’s not as quick as a Tesla though, with the G6 doing 0-60mph in 6.2 seconds compared to the Model Y’s 4.8.
