About Toyota cars
Toyota is one of the biggest car companies in the world. In fact, it sold more cars in 2023 than anyone else. Founded in 1937, Toyota has grown to produce more than 10 million vehicles per year.
Toyota has championed hybrid cars long before most other car maker jumped on the bandwagon, launching the Prius in 1997. It now sells a variety of hybrids and plug-in hybrids, under both the Toyota name and through its upmarket brand, Lexus.
It hasn’t been so quick to pursue fully electric cars, but that has changed in recent years with the launch of the fully electric bZ4X SUV.

In the future Toyota will sell more and more electric cars, but it still sees advantages in hydrogen-fuelled vehicles as an alternative to pure battery electric vehicles.
