Alpine cars is a brand that can trace its origins back to 1955 when a garage proprietor from France started tinkering with Renault models to make them faster. People started asking whether they could buy one of these fast Renaults, and so Alpine cars was established. In the 1970s, Alpine was bought by Renault and later joined by Gordini to form Renault Sport. The most famous Alpine model is arguably the lightweight A110 which was made in the 70s. Now the company is back with the spiritual successor of that car bearing the same name – A110.
