About KGM Motors

KGM’s history, as Ssangyong, goes right back to the 1950s. In fact, the company is this year celebrating 70 years of making cars, so although British buyers only found out about Ssangyong from the early 1990s onwards, it actually has quite the history. 

KGM is entirely a maker of SUVs (or at least it is since the old Rodius MPV went out of production). It makes compact models such as the Tivoli and Korando, the big seven-seat Rexton, and the Musso pickup, which is actually the brand’s biggest UK seller right now. 

It’s also starting to modernise the brand, with newer, sleeker-looking models such as the Actyon and the Torres, and you can have the Torres as an all-electric model if you like. 

KGM is also planning to expand, with more sharply-styled cars, and more electric models, due in the next few years.

KGMs (and its legacy Ssangyong models) aren’t usually the most sophisticated cars around, but they do tend to be solid, useful, and hard-working, and they often represent good value for money.
